WePlant India strengthens nutrition awareness and community action at an Anganwadi Centre in Gujarat πΏπ

As part of the WePlant India Initiative, a meaningful visit was carried out today at an Anganwadi Centre in Gujarat by our District Program Coordinator (DPC), Ms. Manda. The visit focused on strengthening community-led efforts that link nutrition, environmental care, and sustainability at the grassroots level. π±
During the interaction, custard apple seeds were collected from Anganwadi children, encouraging early involvement of young minds in seed saving and plantation activities. Follow-up was also conducted on previously planted saplings, allowing the team to monitor their growth and ensure they are being nurtured with proper care β reinforcing the importance of consistency in plantation efforts. π³β¨
An awareness session was organised for children and Anganwadi workers to sensitise them about the WePlant India Initiative. The discussion highlighted how community participation in planting fruit-bearing trees can directly contribute to improving nutrition, strengthening food security, and addressing malnutrition and hunger in a sustainable way.
The interaction emphasised that small actions β like saving seeds, planting trees, and caring for saplings β can lead to long-term impact when communities work together. By empowering Anganwadi centres with knowledge and practical engagement, WePlant India continues to support healthier children, resilient communities, and a greener future.
Together, we nurture health, hope, and sustainability β one seed and one community at a time. ππ
