Inspiring Young Minds at Kendrashala Vidyamandir, Kolhapur

Under the WePlant India Initiative, an impactful awareness and engagement programme was conducted at Kendrashala Vidyamandir, Nagdevwadi, in Kolhapur district, Maharashtra.
The activity was led by Ms. Ekata Sawant (Aiwale), District Programme Coordinator (DPC), and held in the esteemed presence of Principal Mr. Jadhav. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from 55 students, along with teachers and school staff, creating an environment of active learning and collaboration.
The session focused on sensitising students to the importance of plantations, sustainable food practices, and the role of nutritious food in combating hunger and malnutrition.
Through interactive engagement, students learned:
By connecting theoretical knowledge with practical awareness, the programme encouraged children to understand how small actions can contribute to larger societal change.
Schools serve as powerful platforms for shaping responsible and informed citizens. By introducing concepts of food security and sustainable agriculture at an early age, the initiative nurtures awareness that extends beyond classrooms into households and communities.
When children develop a connection with nature and understand the value of locally grown food, they become ambassadors of healthier living practices within their families. This ripple effect strengthens community resilience and promotes long-term food security.
The engagement at Kendrashala Vidyamandir reflects the core mission of the WePlant India Initiative—to build healthier, self-reliant communities through education, participation, and sustainable action.
By inspiring young minds and empowering schools, the initiative continues to plant the seeds of hope and nutrition, ensuring that today’s efforts lead to a hunger-free tomorrow.
🌿 Together, we plant today for a better and more secure future.
