Empowering students to plant seeds of change — for a sustainable, healthier, and hunger-free India.
On 10th July 2025, a remarkable green movement blossomed at Oxford Higher Secondary School, Sehore, Madhya Pradesh, as the We Plant Program brought together over 700 enthusiastic students and staff in a celebration of nature, learning, and sustainability. 🌱
The event was organized under the visionary guidance of Dr. Beena J. Kurian (Principal) and Adv. Jolly Kurian (Director & Rotary Assistant Governor), both of whom have been strong advocates for environmental education and community engagement. Their leadership inspired the school to take concrete steps toward building a greener and healthier India.
During the event, a Seed Bank was officially handed over to the school, symbolizing the start of continuous green initiatives that promote environmental awareness and biodiversity conservation. The activity encouraged students to understand the importance of collecting and preserving native seeds — ensuring that sustainable practices take root within their communities.
Adding depth and inspiration to the program, Mrs. Boossy Roby, along with the District Program Coordinator (DPC), shared impactful messages on environmental stewardship. They highlighted how plantation drives not only contribute to ecological balance but also play a crucial role in reducing malnutrition and hunger by ensuring long-term access to nutritious, locally grown food sources.
The event became a living example of how schools can serve as centers of sustainability, where knowledge and action go hand in hand. With each tree planted and each student inspired, the We Plant Program continues to nurture the next generation of eco-champions who will safeguard the planet for years to come.
Together, let’s keep planting hope, growing awareness, and building a healthier tomorrow — one sapling at a time.
