Students Lead the Way in Building a Greener, Healthier Tomorrow

On 25th July 2025, the campus of GRK DAV School, Purulia, West Bengal, blossomed with energy and purpose as a Tree Plantation Program was held under the We Plant initiative, organised by the school committee and facilitated by Ms. Sweta Sah.

With 120 enthusiastic students and staff taking part, the event transformed the school grounds into a hub of environmental action. Participants planted a wide variety of saplings, each symbolising a step toward a sustainable and nourished future.

The session went beyond tree planting—it emphasised the importance of seeds and how trees can play a pivotal role in reducing malnutrition and hunger. By nurturing plants that provide nutritional benefits, the initiative beautifully connected environmental sustainability with food security.

A seed bank was also established on the campus to promote biodiversity conservation and inspire ongoing eco-friendly practices. The initiative received an overwhelmingly positive response, with students expressing a renewed sense of responsibility toward the planet.

Together, the GRK DAV School community and the We Plant initiative are cultivating awareness, action, and a greener tomorrow—one seedling at a time.
