Greening Freedom: Celebrating Independence Day with Roots of Change

On 15th August 2025, We Plant celebrated Independence Day with a green touch by organising plantation drives across multiple states of India — a tribute to freedom through sustainability and care for the planet. 💚
In Rajasthan, plantation activities bloomed in Bikaner, Kota, and nearby regions at schools, temples, churches, colleges, and Anganwadis, where principals, teachers, and children planted fruit-bearing trees like Papaya, Mango, Amla, Sitafal, Belpatra, and Jamun.
In West Bengal, the students and teachers of Jiaganj St. Stephens School, Murshidabad, joined hands to green their campus with hope and dedication. Meanwhile, in Delhi, Vivekananda Ashram embraced this mission with the active participation of its members who planted saplings to mark the spirit of independence.
Maharashtra witnessed one of the largest plantation drives across 16 talukas of Yavatmal District, where over 24,800 seeds and 800+ fruit saplings — including Mango, Guava, Pomegranate, Jamun, and Amla — were planted under the “Save the Seeds, Sow the Seeds” campaign. 🌾🌿
This nationwide effort was supported by Tahsildars, BDOs, ASHA and Anganwadi workers, along with enthusiastic villagers, students, and local leaders. From schools and temples to Anganwadis and ashrams, every seed planted carried the promise of nutrition, sustainability, and collective growth. 🌍✨
Together, we plant not only trees but also the promise of a greener, healthier, and hunger-free India — because freedom grows stronger when our planet thrives.
