Every seed saved today carries the potential to nourish a family tomorrow. At WePlant India, we continue to strengthen our commitment to reducing malnutrition and hunger by promoting community-led seed conservation, sustainable food systems, and environmental awareness.
As part of this mission, our dedicated team member, Ms. Sara Joseph, District Programme Coordinator (DPC), Almora, successfully established the 9th WePlant Seed Bank at Government Primary School, Panchdhara, Almora.
The establishment of this Seed Bank marks an important step toward preserving local seed varieties and encouraging sustainable cultivation within the community. By creating a space where seeds can be collected, protected, and shared, the initiative helps strengthen local food systems while promoting the importance of biodiversity and food security.
The initiative also provides an opportunity to introduce children to the value of seed conservation and sustainable agriculture. By engaging young minds, we are nurturing a generation that understands the connection between healthy food, environmental sustainability, and community well-being.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Ms. Geeta Bisht, the school teacher, for her valuable support and cooperation in making this initiative possible. Her involvement will help ensure that the Seed Bank becomes a meaningful learning and community resource for years to come.
At WePlant India, we believe that meaningful change begins with small, purposeful actions. Every seed preserved is a step toward protecting biodiversity. Every seed sown is an opportunity to grow nutritious food. And every community involved brings us closer to a healthier and hunger-free India.
Together, let us continue to Save the Seeds & Sow the Seeds, nurturing hope, strengthening food security, and building a sustainable future for generations to come. 🌱🌿
