Sowing Seeds of Hope — Empowering Students to Build a Sustainable and Nourished Tomorrow

In an inspiring step toward sustainability and food security, WePlant, in collaboration with Delhi Public School, Vasant Kunj, proudly launched its SeedBank Initiative — a movement designed to educate young minds about the power of seed preservation and the importance of sustainable living.
The event was graced by Dr. Santosh G, Founder of WePlant India Trust, and Rtn. Dr. Priya Oberoi, President of Rotary Club of Delhi Safdarjung. Their presence added immense value and inspiration to the occasion as students and teachers gathered to celebrate the beginning of a greener future.
Dr. Santosh G delivered an engaging talk emphasizing the crucial role of seed preservation in ensuring long-term food security. He encouraged every student to take an active role in the initiative, aiming to inspire each child to plant a thousand seeds for a better planet.
This was followed by a thought-provoking conversation between Dr. Santosh and Rtn. Dr. Priya Oberoi, who shared valuable insights on cultivating sustainable practices and fostering a sense of environmental responsibility among youth.
To promote ongoing participation, a dedicated SeedBank box was placed in the school premises, where students can regularly contribute seeds. These collected seeds will be used to grow kitchen gardens and nourish communities and villages facing hunger and malnutrition.
The SeedBank Initiative goes beyond planting — it’s about nurturing responsibility, building awareness, and empowering the next generation to create lasting change. By integrating education, sustainability, and compassion, WePlant continues its mission to cultivate a healthier, hunger-free world.
Together, WePlant and DPS Vasant Kunj are sowing the seeds of hope, ensuring that every small action today blossoms into a sustainable tomorrow. 🌾
