Empowering Young Minds Through the “Seed Bank Establishment” Initiative

On 25th July 2025, the campus of Government High School, Chamarajanagar, Karnataka, came alive with enthusiasm and purpose as a transformative “Seed Bank Establishment” session took place under the leadership of Ms. Priskila Priya (DPC).
With over 100 students and teachers participating actively, the initiative marked a significant step toward creating a Nutrition Forest — an effort that combines environmental conservation with community-driven food security.
The program focused on seed plantation, encouraging students to understand the deeper connection between nature, nutrition, and sustainability. Through this activity, they not only learned about preserving biodiversity but also grasped the importance of cultivating nutritional plants that can help reduce hunger and malnutrition at the grassroots level.
This initiative stands as a reminder that even small actions, when nurtured collectively, can create long-term change. By empowering young learners to take charge of their environment, the “Seed Bank Establishment” is fostering a generation that values self-reliance, environmental stewardship, and sustainable living.
As the newly planted seeds begin to sprout, so does the vision of a greener, healthier, and more resilient Karnataka — one seed at a time.
