We Plant Initiative receives positive response from District Education Authorities to expand nutrition-focused plantation efforts

A significant milestone was achieved under the We Plant Initiative as our team members visited the Ahmedabad District Education Office and formally submitted the WePlant India permission letter to the District Education Officers of both Rural and Urban divisions. The visit received an encouraging and positive response, with officials assuring that the official circular approving the initiative will be issued within the week. 🌱
This development marks an important step in strengthening collaboration with the education system to scale school- and community-based plantation activities across Ahmedabad. By integrating plantation efforts within schools, We Plant aims to improve access to nutritious, locally grown food, while also creating awareness around sustainable food practices among children and communities.
The initiative directly aligns with WePlant India’s mission to reduce malnutrition and hunger by promoting food security through community participation, seed banks, and nutrition gardens. Schools play a critical role in this vision, serving as centres for learning, action, and long-term impact on child health and well-being. 🌾💚
We sincerely appreciate the proactive support and cooperation of the Ahmedabad District Education authorities, whose engagement strengthens the foundation for meaningful and scalable impact. This activity was led by our Gujarat State Program Coordinator (SPC), Ms. Sesil, whose continued efforts are instrumental in building strong partnerships for child nutrition, health, and sustainable food systems.
Together, through WePlant India, we are sowing the seeds of collaboration, awareness, and action — nurturing a healthier, more food-secure future for children and communities alike. 🌍✨
