WePlant India advances grassroots action through seed banks and Anganwadi engagement πΏπ

Under the WePlant India Initiative, a meaningful day of field outreach and community engagement was carried out in Patan, Gujarat, led by our dedicated District Program Coordinator (DPC) from Dharpur. These activities reflect our continued commitment to strengthening local food systems and empowering communities through sustainable solutions. π±
As part of the outreach, the team visited two Anganwadi Centres, where two Seed Banks were successfully established. These Seed Banks will support local food security by enabling communities to preserve, share, and grow nutrition-rich, locally adaptable seeds β a vital step in addressing hunger and malnutrition at the grassroots level. πΎ
During the visits, Anganwadi workers and community members were also introduced to the mission and ongoing work of WePlant India. Interactive discussions highlighted the importance of nutrition-sensitive agriculture, community participation, and simple practices that families can adopt to improve dietary diversity and child nutrition.
These engagements reinforce the role of Anganwadi centres as key pillars in community well-being. By combining awareness with action, the initiative strengthens grassroots systems, supports child nutrition, and builds long-term community resilience rooted in self-reliance and sustainability.
Together, through shared responsibility and purposeful action, we continue to plant hope and nurture healthier, stronger futures β one community at a time. ππ
