Supporting SDG 2: Zero Hunger Through Community Action, Nutrition, and Hope

August 2, 2026

Creating a hunger-free future begins with collective action, and every contribution—no matter how small—has the power to make a lasting impact. At WePlant India, we are inspired by individuals and institutions that come together to support sustainable solutions for nutrition, food security, and environmental conservation.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Josephine Emmanuel, the dedicated teachers, and the enthusiastic students of Faith Academy, Delhi, for their remarkable contribution of more than 1,000 seeds to our Seed Bank. The collection included a variety of seeds such as mango, papaya, watermelon, and several other fruit-bearing and nutritious plant species, each carrying the promise of a healthier tomorrow.

This generous contribution strengthens our mission of establishing community Seed Banks and developing Nutrition Forests that promote sustainable food systems while preserving valuable indigenous and locally adapted seed varieties. Every seed collected today has the potential to grow into a source of nutritious food, helping reduce hunger and malnutrition while contributing to healthier communities and a greener environment.

The initiative also supports United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2 (SDG 2): Zero Hunger, which aims to end hunger, achieve food security, improve nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture. By engaging students in meaningful environmental and social action, we are nurturing a generation that understands the importance of sustainability, biodiversity, and responsible stewardship of natural resources.

At WePlant India, we believe that educating young minds and encouraging community participation are key to building long-term solutions to food insecurity. The dedication shown by the students and staff of Faith Academy demonstrates how schools can become powerful catalysts for positive social and environmental change.

We sincerely thank Ms. Josephine Emmanuel, the school leadership, teachers, and every student whose enthusiasm and commitment made this initiative a success. Their efforts remind us that when communities come together with a shared purpose, even a single seed can grow into a movement of hope.

Together, we are nurturing food security, reducing hunger and malnutrition, and building a healthier, greener, and more sustainable India—one seed at a time.
