What does freedom truly mean if a child still goes to bed hungry?
This Independence Day, WePlant India is celebrating the spirit of freedom by taking a meaningful step toward building a future where every child has access to nutritious food and every family can live with greater food security.
As part of this vision, the WePlant India team in Madhya Pradesh visited a school in Banmore, Madhya Pradesh, to create awareness among students about the importance of saving, sharing, and preserving seeds. The initiative introduced children to the powerful connection between seed conservation, nutrition, environmental sustainability, and the fight against hunger.
A Seed Collection Box was placed at the school, encouraging students to contribute seeds and become young ambassadors of the movement. This simple initiative gives children an opportunity to participate directly in creating sustainable food systems while learning the importance of protecting biodiversity and local seed varieties.
A seed may be small, but its potential is enormous. When planted and nurtured, it can grow into a fruit-bearing tree or nutritious crop that supports families and communities for years to come.
✨ A seed saved today can become food for tomorrow.
🌱 A child who plants today can nourish generations tomorrow.
The initiative also invites us to imagine a larger movement:
What if every school had a Seed Collection Box?
What if every child became a seed saver?
What if every seed planted became one more step toward a hunger-free India?
At WePlant India, we believe that ending hunger requires collective action, and lasting change begins by empowering communities—especially young minds—to become part of the solution.
This Independence Day, let us celebrate freedom by investing in a future where nutrition, sustainability, and food security are accessible to all.
