Nourishing Our World:
Impacting UN SDGs Through Fruit Tree Planting

At WePlant, we are dedicated to creating a positive impact on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through our student and youth-led movement. Our mission of planting fruit trees in large numbers in public places directly and effectively addresses three vital SDGs and indirectly contributes to three more, fostering a brighter and sustainable future for all.

Directly Addressing Key SDGs

  1. Zero Hunger (SDG 2):By planting fruit trees in public spaces, we are directly tackling the issue of hunger. Accessible and abundant fruits provide essential nutrition to even the poorest of the poor, ensuring food security and nourishment for communities in need.
  2. Climate Action (SDG 13):Our efforts to plant fruit trees significantly contribute to climate action. Trees play a vital role in sequestering carbon dioxide and mitigating climate change, enhancing the overall resilience of our environment.
  3. Life on Land (SDG 15): As we nurture green spaces and create fruit-bearing habitats, we promote biodiversity and support life on land. Our initiative revitalizes ecosystems, providing shelter and sustenance for a wide array of flora and fauna.

Indirectly Supporting Additional SDGs

  1. Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3): The availability of nutritious fruits contributes to better health and well-being, reducing malnutrition-related issues and promoting healthier lifestyles.
  2. Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8): Our movement generates opportunities for youth and communities to engage in sustainable plantation practices, fostering economic growth and creating green jobs.
  3. Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17): WePlant thrives on collaboration and partnerships with diverse stakeholders, leveraging collective action to address global challenges.

Beyond Goals: Addressing More Vital Issues

Apart from these goals, WePlant's movement also addresses three more vital issues in the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations:

  1. No Poverty (SDG 1): By empowering communities with accessible and nutritious fruits, we contribute to poverty alleviation, providing a pathway towards a more prosperous and equitable society.
  2. Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3): A diet rich in fruits positively impacts health and well-being, reducing the burden of preventable diseases and promoting a healthier lifestyle for all.
  3. Life Below Water (SDG 14): Our efforts to promote biodiversity through tree planting indirectly benefit marine life, contributing to the preservation and restoration of marine ecosystems.
